Frank Frazetta

Pretty much needs no introduction. I figured I should do a post with some images of his work especially considering his passing last Monday. I just found out today.Although I didn't study his work as closely as other artists have, I certainly can recognize his solid sense of composition and dramatic lighting. He was an artist who has been very influential for animators and illustrators alike.

I like what he wrote about his opinions on what makes a good villain. Villains usually are more interesting to me than the hero. I like their flaws and that they usually go all out to an extreme to make a point or to get what they want. Anyway, here are some of my favorite evil characters:

I also really love Snape's character from the Harry Potter books. You learn more of his backstory in the last book (The Deathly Hallows). I can't wait for that movie to come out. I am really excited to see how they adapt it. I literally cried in one chapter of the last book. It's just an overall great story.

 I have no idea how many times I will be posting Looney Tunes on here, but it should be quite a few. I've never stopped being completely amazed every time I watch these cartoons. It's like watching a magic. So here's a fun video watch (note that it's over a full minute, all in one shot, and it's completely engaging).

Passion Pictures is another awesome animation studio in the UK. I was playing the Beatles Rockband with my sister, and I didn't know that they were the ones who had made the opening cinematic for the game.

The Little Mermaid

The first post I had wanted to do for this blog was a movie that has had a major impact on my life: The Little Mermaid. It hooked me on animation when I was a kid. I therefore thought it fitting to start with that film for this blog. However, I got through half the film and ended up with 1,139 images! Holy Crap! It took a long time to compile them together and post them up. I do not believe I will be able to go through the rest of the film...maybe some point later. The next posts will have fewer screen grabs, but ones that would be worth looking at. I just got a little carried away with this one.
